Description: PURPOSE STATEMENT
APPLICANT RESPECTFULLY REQUESTS A BRIEF EXTENSION OF THE STA DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND ITS CONTROL. AS SET FORTH IN DETAIL IN A PLEADING TO BE FILED ON OR BEFORE JULY 7, 2006 PER DA 06-1372 (RELEASED JUNE 29, 2006), APPLICANT MAY NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLY WITH THE MAXIMIZATION DEADLINE OWING TO EQUIPMENT DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION DELAYS. A TOWER CREW IS INSTALLING THE EQUIPMENT THIS WEEKEND, AND ANTICIPATES COMPLETING WORK PRIOR TO JULY 7, 2006. HOWEVER, OUT OF AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION, AN EXTENSION OF THE STA IS HEREBY REQUESTED.
A GRANT OF THIS STA EXTENSION REQUEST WOULD SERVE THE PUBLIC INTEREST BY ALLOWING APPLICANT TO CONTINUE PROVIDING DIGITAL COVERAGE TO VIEWERS IN THE DULUTH MARKET WHILE THE TOWER CREW COMPLETES INSTALLATION OF THE MAXIMIZED FACILITIES.
APPLICANT WILL CONTINUE TO AFFORD THE REQUISITE COVERAGE TO THE CITY OF LICENSE. IN ADDITION, THE STATION WILL CONTINUE TO COMPLY WITH THE COMMISSIONS RADIO FREQUENCY RADIATION RULES, 47 C.F.R. 1.1307(B).
