Description:
NEED FOR EXTENSION

CHRISTIAN FAITH BROADCAST, INC. (CFB), SUBMITS THE INSTANT APPLICATION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME TO CONSTRUCT A DIGITAL TELEVISION BROADCAST STATION DUE TO WEATHER FACTORS BEYOND ITS CONTROL.

CFB WAS GRANTED A CONSTRUCTION PERMIT FOR ITS DIGITAL FACILITIES ON JANUARY 10, 2006, AND WAS ONLY GIVEN ONE-YEAR FROM THE DATE OF GRANT INSTEAD OF THE STANDARD THREE-YEAR CONSTRUCTION PERIOD TO BUILD ITS DIGITAL FACILITIES. THIS APPLICATION IS TIMELY FILED AS A PERMITTEE WITH A CONSTRUCTION PERMIT THAT EXPIRES AFTER THE JULY 1, 2006, HAS UNTIL THE EXPIRATION DATE TO CONSTRUCT THOSE FACILITIES AND MUST FILE AN APPLICATION FOR AN EXTENSION OF ITS CONSTRUCTION PERMIT BY THE DATE ON WHICH THE CONSTRUCTION PERMIT EXPIRES. SEE DTV CHANNEL ELECTION ISSUES COMPLIANCE WITH THE JULY 1, 2006 REPLICATION/MAXIMIZATION INTERFERENCE PROTECTION DEADLINE; STATIONS SEEKING EXTENSION OF THE DEADLINE, DA 06-1255 (REL. JUNE 14, 2006).

CFB HAD EXPECTED TO FULLY CONSTRUCT ITS DIGITAL FACILITIES BY THE EXPIRATION OF ITS DIGITAL CONSTRUCTION PERMIT, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS GIVEN ONLY ONE YEAR TO DO SO. UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO WINTER WEATHER (SPECIFICALLY 2 INCHES OF ICE ON THE TOWER), CFB WILL LIKELY NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE CONSTRUCTION BY JANUARY 10, 2007.

CFB IS PLEASED TO REPORT THAT IT IS VERY CLOSE TO COMPLETING CONSTRUCTION. THE TRANSMITTER HAS BEEN INSTALLED AND PROOFED. THE ANTENNA HAS BEEN ORDERED AND IS READY TO SHIP. ALL THE TRANSMISSION LINE HAS BEEN ORDERED AND DELIVERED (THE HORIZONTAL LINE HAS BEEN INSTALLED). THE TRANSMISSION LINE AND THE ANTENNA CANNOT BE INSTALLED DUE TO THE ICE ON THE TOWER.

CFB WILL COMPLETE CONSTRUCTION AS SOON AS THE WEATHER ALLOW. IT IS CFB'S HOPE THAT IT WILL COMPLETE CONSTRUCTION IN LATE WINTER OR EARLY SPRING OF 2007.
