THE CURRENT STA ALLOWS TANANA VALLEY TO OPERATE K13XD(CA) WITH HIGHER POWER FACILITIES PENDING CONSIDERATION OF ITS APPLICATION FOR A FULL-POWER STATION IN FAIRBANKS (BPCT-19960920LC).

GRANT OF THIS STA EXTENSION REQUEST WOULD SERVE THE PUBLIC INTEREST BY PERMITTING THE CITIZENS OF FAIRBANKS TO CONTINUE ENJOYING A LEVEL OF TELEVISION SERVICE APPROACHING THAT CONTEMPLATED BY THE COMMISSION'S ALLOCATION RULE WHILE THE COMMISSION CONSIDERS TANANA VALLEY'S PENDING REQUEST FOR PERMANENT WAIVER OF THE DUOPOLY RULE.
