POST NEWSWEEK STATIONS, ORLANDO, INC., LICENSEE OF WPLG, MIAMI, FLORIDA (THE 'STATION') RESPECTFULLY REQUESTS EXTENSION OF ITS SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORITY TO CONTINUE TO OPERATE ITS ENHANCED DTV FACILITY PENDING THE ANTICIPATED COMPLETION OF ITS FINAL MAXIMIZATION FACILITY. AS THE STATION PREVIOUSLY ADVISED THE COMMISSION, IT HAS COMPLETED CONSTRUCTION OF ITS FINAL POST-TRANSITION FACILITY, WHICH OPERATED AT 30 KW EFFECTIVE RADIATED POWER, AND HAS APPLIED FOR AUTHORITY TO OPERATE A MAXIMIZED FACILITY AT 127.7 KW. SEE FILE NO. BMPCDT-20100507ACE. THE STATION INTENDS TO CONSTRUCT THE 127.7 KW FACILITY IN PLACE OF ITS CURRENTLY-AUTHORIZED 156 KW MAXIMIZATION FACILITY, WHOSE CONSTRUCTION HAS BEEN DELAYED BECAUSE OF TECHNICAL CHALLENGES.

PENDING COMPLETION OF THE STATION'S MAXIMIZATION FACILITY, THE STATION HAS RECEIVED APPROVAL TO OPERATE AN ENHANCED INTERIM FACILITY OPERATING AT 60 KW. THE STATION RESPECTFULLY REQUESTS EXTENSION OF ITS AUTHORITY TO OPERATE THIS ENHANCED FACILITY FOR SIX MONTHS AFTER JULY 5, 2010, THE DATE ON WHICH THE CURRENT STA EXPIRES. THE STATION ANTICIPATES THAT, ASSUMING ITS APPLICATION TO OPERATE THE 127.7 KW FACILITY IS GRANTED PROMPTLY, IT WILL BE ABLE TO COMPLETE CONSTRUCTION OF ITS MAXIMIZATION FACILITY WITHIN THAT SIX-MONTH PERIOD.
