EXPLANATION OF VARIATION FROM CONSTRUCTION PERMIT

CONSTRUCTION PERMIT BMPDVA-20110706ABI SPECIFIES A SCALA MODEL TV0-4 AS THE TRANSMITTING ANTENNA. IT HAS AN OMNI DIRECTIONAL ANTENNA PATTERN.

THE ANTENNA WAS NOT REPLACED AS PART OF THE CONVERSION TO DIGITAL. THE ORIGINAL BOGNER MODEL B4VO WITH A GAIN OF 4.7 WAS RETAINED AND THE TRANSMITTER POWER ADJUSTED TO ACHIEVE THE AUTHORIZED ERP OF 0.30 KW. THE REQUIRED TRANSMITTER POWER AS SHOWN IN QUESTION 4 IS 0.0879 KW OR -10.56 DBK. THE TRANSMISSION LINE EFFICIENCY IS 0.726. THE ERP CALCULATION BECOMES:

ERP = 0.0879 X 0.726 X 4.7 = 0.30 KW.

AS THE BOGNER B4VO IS ALSO AN OMNI DIRECTIONAL ANTENNA THE SUBSTITUTION DOES NOT CHANGE THE COVERAGE OR THE OUTGOING INTERFERENCE CALCULATION.
